The average gas mileage in 2020 was 25.7 miles per gallon. Using that information, we narrowed down our inventory and discovered that we have some amazing fuel efficient used cars!

MPG: City 20 / Highway 26                            $9,495

This luxury SUV is high in style, features, storage, and space! With its All-Wheel Drive and engine size (4-Cylinder, GDI, 2.4 Liter), it averages about 23 miles per gallon mixed use (city/highway driving). That may not beat last year’s national average, but it is close!

 

  1. 2014 Chrysler 200

            MPG: City 19 / Highway 29                            $9,495

The 2014 Chrysler 200 is a beautiful vehicle packed with features in safety, high-tech, and power. The V6, Flex Fuel, 3.6 Liter averages 24 miles per gallon for mixed use driving - Just a bit lower than the 2020 average.

Note: Tied for 10th is the 2011 Chrysler 200. Some features are different, but the MPG is the same. This slightly older beauty is $7,000.

 

  1. 2010 Dodge Avenger

MPG: City 21 / Highway 29                            $7,000

This superhero machine offers some great features including some higher-tech accessories and driving features that can help increase your fuel efficiency.

It has a 4-Cylinder, 2.4 Liter engine and averages about 25 miles per gallon for mixed use driving. Barely below the 2020 average!

Note: Tied for 8th is the 2010 Dodge Avenger. Some features are different, but the MPG is the same. This slightly different vehicle is $5,600. 

 

  1. 2012 Volkswagan Passat

MPG: City 22 / Highway 31                            $9,495 

This awesome VW is loaded with fun features like the moon roof, hill hold assistance, power everything, daytime running lights, and more! For added economic value, this ride has PZEV (Partial Zero Emission Vehicle aka great for the economy and environment).

To top that off, it also gets an average of about 26.5 miles per gallon. Take that 2020!

 

  1. 2012 Chevy Equinox

MPG: City 22 / Highway 32                            $9,495

This little 4-door gem may be standard in size for a smaller SUV, but it sure is mighty. It comes with StabiliTrack, an anti-theft system, back up camera, and so much more.

This limited SUV runs on a 4-Cylinder, 2.4 Liter engine and averages about 27 miles per gallon in mixed driving.

 

  1. 2011 Nissan Altima

MPG: City 23 / Highway 32                            $5,600

Kicking off the Top 5 of our best fuel efficient used cars is this silver fox of a sedan. It features traction control, vehicle dynamic control, and ABS (4-wheel).

And, with its 4-Cylinder, 2.4 Liter engine size, the average mixed-use miles per gallon is 27.5!

 

  1. 2013 Toyota Camry

MPG: City 25 / Highway 35                            $11,200

This black beauty has all you need for a safe and reliable car. It has some unique features like Knee Air Bags (Who knew that was a thing?), fog lights, rear suspension, a navigation system, and more.

With its 4-Cylinder, 2.4 Liter engine, it has a “wow” inducing average of 30 miles per gallon mixed use.

 

  1. 2013 Dodge Dart

MPG: City 25 / Highway 36                            $9,800

This vehicle is all about safety with its Rollover Protection, touring suspension, hill start assist control, traction control, and loads of air bags.

Couple that with a 4 Cylinder Tigershark 2.0 Liter engine and you’ve got yourself an average mixed-use miles per gallon of 30.5!

 

  1. 2014 Ford Focus

MPG: City 27 / Highway 37                            $5,600

The classic Ford model created a nice make when they brought the Focus out to play. This vehicle is equipped with PZEV (Remember that? Partial Zero Emission Vehicle), SelectShift, AdvancTrac, and, of course, more.

This car gets an average of 32 miles per gallon mixed-use.

            MPG: City 51 / Highway 48                            $8,900

You read that right! 51 miles per gallon in the city!! The Prius hybrid is on several top-spot lists for fuel efficient used cars. The vehicle has the basic bells and whistles with a few higher-tech features.
